For a limited time, Walmart is offering the ABS Cyclone gaming PC featuring a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card for $899 shipped. According to the report, this machine delivers greater power than the Steam Machine while remaining less expensive.
The hardware configuration includes an Intel Core i5-14400F CPU featuring 10 cores and 16 threads with a max boost clock of 4.7GHz. It also packs 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD, with the system utilizing DDR4 instead of DDR5 without causing noticeable gaming performance differences.
The built-in RTX 5060 GPU surpasses the previous RTX 4060 by about 20%-30% before considering DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation. The system achieves a steady 60fps or higher in most 1080p games, though higher resolutions such as 1440p or 4K require upgrading to an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) or higher.
The ABS Cyclone costs $150 less than the $1,049 Steam Machine, which relies on a low wattage CPU and a custom GPU comparable to the Radeon RX 7600 or GeForce RTX 4060. The ABS Cyclone rig provides at least a 20%-30% performance edge over that device.
