Key information

Bandai Namco has officially announced the return of the iconic fighting kangaroo, Roger Jr., to Tekken 8. The character is scheduled to join the roster on November 11 for players holding the season three character pass. Those opting to purchase the fighter individually will gain access on November 16 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms.

The announcement was accompanied by a four-minute gameplay trailer debuted at EVO France 2026. This footage highlights Roger Jr.'s unique combat style, which involves the joey fighting from within its mother's pouch. The character utilizes close-range strikes, acrobatic leaps, and powerful throws to overwhelm opponents, including a humorous Rage Art that launches rivals toward the Moon.

Bandai Namco describes the fighter as relatively accessible for newcomers while offering sufficient depth for veteran players. This release marks the character's first appearance in the franchise since Tekken Tag Tournament 2 over a decade ago. Roger Jr. serves as the third addition to the third season, following the previous arrivals of Kunimitsu and Bob.

The expansion of the Tekken 8 roster continues throughout the third season. Following the release of Roger Jr., the development team has confirmed that a fourth fighter, Yujiro Hanma from the Baki series, is slated to join the game in early 2027.
