Key information
During EVO France 2026 in Nice, Bandai Namco announced the third year of content for Tekken 8. The roster will expand with the return of the kangaroo Roger Jr. and the addition of Yujiro Hanma, the antagonist from the Baki manga series.
Roger Jr. brings cartoon-style humor to the game, featuring a unique mechanic where the marsupials perform a Coyote and Road Runner-inspired dash, allowing them to sprint on thin air before launching various attacks. The character duo is capable of knocking opponents into space.
Yujiro Hanma represents a significant technical challenge for the developers. Producer Naoya Yasuda noted that translating Keisuke Itagaki’s distinct art style into 3D required animators to build movements by hand, as the character's exaggerated style cannot be replicated by live actors.
Roger Jr. will be available on November 11 for season pass holders and November 16 for all other players. Yujiro Hanma is scheduled for a winter release, with a gameplay trailer set to debut during the Tekken World Tour finals on January 17.
