Developer 11 bit studios has announced that the acclaimed strategy simulation game Frostpunk will release on the Nintendo Switch platform on October 19. A playable trial version and pre-orders are currently available for players.
Originally launched on Steam in 2018 to overwhelming praise before expanding to home consoles and mobile devices, Frostpunk is a social survival game blending strategic gameplay with a harsh narrative centered on human endurance. Set in a perilously frozen world where heat equals life, players must govern the planet's final city, develop steam-powered technology, and manage vital resources while facing difficult moral decisions.
Governors must optimize resources, regulate daily routines, healthcare, and food supplies, while balancing societal hope and satisfaction against the brutal demands of survival. The experience features eight different maps with unique terrains, weather conditions, and challenges, alongside distinct play modes including the demanding Endurance mode, the Builder mode featuring no initial generator, and the relaxed Serenity mode focused purely on city building.
