Key information

Developer Yuki Maharuna has unveiled the Steam store page for The Chair Game, a physics-based action title scheduled for release in November 2026. Players control a man seated on an office chair, tasked with navigating a single path from a harbor to his home located at a mountain peak.

The gameplay relies on keyboard inputs to maneuver the chair. Players must kick the ground to move, rotate the seat to change direction, and lean backward to lift the front wheels over obstacles. The developer notes that the chair is intentionally difficult to control, as it does not stop easily and can cause the player to tumble into the sea if they trip over small stones.

The journey spans 12 distinct locations, including construction sites, volcanoes, and shrines, all while avoiding hazards like rolling drums and runaway bicycles. There are no save points; falling off the path forces players to restart from their landing spot, while specific failures like being hit by a train or falling into lava reset progress to the harbor.

The game features a documentary-style subtitle system that provides deadpan commentary on the protagonist's progress and frequent falls. The title is expected to cost 500 yen and will support Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese languages upon its PC launch.
