Key information
Mondo has revealed a new, exclusive poster for Street Fighter 2, offering a distinct alternative to the official promotional art for the upcoming Street Fighter film. The artwork avoids the common floating head design, instead focusing on a single, intense moment of combat.
Artist Gian Galang designed the piece, which depicts the legendary rivalry between Ryu and Sagat. The composition captures a Shoryuken strike, featuring lightning effects that split the image to highlight the connection between martial arts and the game's legacy.
The final product is a nine-color screenprint produced on high-quality House White paper. Galang noted that Street Fighter 2 was the first game he ever owned, influencing his career path and his approach to this specific illustration.
Collectors can purchase the poster for $90 starting October 16 at 9 AM PT. The imagery references the storied history between the two fighters, including the origin of Sagat's iconic chest scar and his complex relationship with Ryu.
