Key information

Mood Publishing is launching a crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound for Satisfactory: The Board Game, a tabletop adaptation of the factory-building video game. Designed by David Thor Fjalarsson, the game allows up to four players to mine, refine, and upgrade factories to earn FICSIT points before the space elevator is completed.

Gameplay centers on a hex-grid map where players perform two actions per turn: building, moving, or operating their factory. The building mechanic is a highlight, as constructing specific machines triggers bonus actions, such as free movement or extra turns. A production phase follows, where mines generate iron, copper, or limestone, and materials move along conveyor belts for refinement.

The reviewer notes the game is physically large and visually dense, potentially overwhelming players with numerous icons. While the prototype lacked a reference card, the publisher confirmed one will be included in the final release. The reviewer found the game's competitive nature at higher player counts creates a "mean" experience through blocking, whereas lower player counts offer a more puzzle-focused, optimized experience.

Although the main game is a competitive race, cooperative and solo modes are planned for the final version. Games typically last between 2 and 3.5 hours. Interested players can currently view the draft rules on Gamefound or test an official preview build on Tabletop Simulator via Steam.
