Key information

Independent studio Oxalis Games has announced that the cozy life simulation RPG Moonfrost will launch in early access on PC via Steam on October 13, 2026, at 1:00 AM Taipei and Hong Kong time. The game will be priced at NT$288 in Taiwan and HK$78 in Hong Kong.

Set in a world battered by meteor storms, players take on the role of a Frost Hunter who must harness the mysterious power of moonfrost. This ability allows them to turn fallen meteors into various structures to rebuild a ruined village from within, restore order, and uncover the mystery behind a second moon hanging overhead.

The gameplay combines traditional life simulation activities such as farming, fishing, cooking, crafting, building, and tending to livestock with adventure mechanics. Players can explore hidden shrines, manage advanced inventories and resources, and experience a natural day-night cycle alongside weather and sleep elements.

Moonfrost emphasizes a narrative-driven world featuring character-focused storylines where players can build bonds, foster friendships, and pursue romance with distinct characters. Every choice made by the player helps shape the surrounding world and influences character personalities as the community is brought back to life.
