Key information

Rock Paper Shotgun reported on ROTETRA, a block stacking game where players manage tetrominos falling from four directions simultaneously. The publication described it as an engaging twist on the formula.

Rounds begin with pieces falling from the top, allowing players to spin, speed up, or drop them. As successful lines are cleared, blocks begin falling from another side, requiring the player to rotate the board to the top and juggle multiple pieces while previous pieces keep falling.

The reviewer noted that dealing with three directions was very difficult and stated they did not manage to reach the fourth direction, describing the game as a toughie.

Developer Michael Kamm designed the game to feature over eight gameplay modes. The available demo includes standard mode, while other modes include cross, classico, and puzzle. A playable demo is available on itch.io and Steam, where players can also wishlist the title.
