Key information

Independent developer PiGames has announced that its upcoming single-player roguelike deckbuilding game, The House Always Wins, is scheduled for release on Steam in late 2026. A free playable demo supporting Traditional Chinese is currently available.

The game features a casino theme but does not include any gambling mechanisms, focusing instead on strategy, deck synergies, and replayability. Players roll dice to enhance cards for the duration of a battle, match relic values and suits to alter deck strategies, and utilize gems and one-time secret skills to build powerful combos across a shifting casino multiverse.

Players are also encouraged to reduce enemy health precisely to zero in order to trigger exact-score card and relic abilities. The available Steam demo includes the complete first chapter, a procedurally generated adventure map, elite battles, and three bosses. Adventures grant experience points to unlock new cards, relics, gems, secret skills, quests, and game mechanics.
