Key information

Rockstar Games shared details about Grand Theft Auto VI in an IGN interview featuring studio co-director and development director Rob Nelson. Nelson stated that the team wants to continue blurring the line separating side content from primary missions.

Nelson explained that missions are being opened up whenever appropriate to give players numerous choices akin to open world freedom, while maintaining high quality standards despite added complexity. Developers are also elevating open world activities so those actions integrate into the overarching narrative.

The studio expressed enthusiasm for open world systems reacting to player actions and generating frequent, natural emergent gameplay. However, physical edition buyers should note that the physical version contains a digital download code rather than a disc.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and pre-orders are currently available. The title represents an ambitious open world action and driving adventure developed and published by Rockstar Games.
