Developer Lichthund has officially announced Rockbeasts, a rock 'n' roll management RPG scheduled for release on PS5 in January 2027. The studio is collaborating with Critical Role on both creative and publishing aspects to elevate the project.
In this management-focused title, players assume the role of a band manager rather than a musician. The core gameplay involves guiding a garage band through various challenges, including resource management, balancing conflicting band member egos, and handling chaotic situations like literal fires to reach major stages.
The partnership with Critical Role brings significant talent to the game, with Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel confirmed as voice actors. Lichthund emphasizes that this collaboration aims to infuse the game with the specific energy, heart, and dedication that these performers are known for, helping to realize the developer's original vision.
