Key information

Microsoft Japan has officially announced that the open-world racing title Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 on January 27, 2027. Players who purchase the Premium Edition or higher will gain early access starting January 21, 2027. Standard editions are priced starting at 9,800 yen, with physical copies available alongside digital versions on the PS Store, which include a pre-order bonus of a tuned Ferrari J50.

The title was originally expected in 2026, but the lack of updates at major events like gamescom and Tokyo Game Show led to widespread speculation regarding a potential cancellation under the new leadership of Asha Sharma. Despite the delay, the release is now confirmed, with development handled by Panic Button, the studio behind the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5.

The game supports cross-platform multiplayer, allowing PlayStation users to engage with the existing community and its vast library of user-created content from day one. Additionally, the first of two planned paid expansions will be released on January 21, offering new experiences for Xbox, PC, and PlayStation players alike. A free content update for all players is also scheduled for that date.

While the first expansion was briefly teased in a trailer, details remain scarce, showing only ocean environments without clear landmasses. Further information regarding the expansion's specific content is expected to follow.
