Key information

Riot Games has unveiled a final gameplay trailer for 2XKO, marking the conclusion of support for the fighting game later this year. Despite the impending sunset, the developer is releasing one last major update on 27th October, which introduces a surprise addition to the roster.

The update features Samira as the 16th character, but she is joined by the highly requested brawler Sett. Sett utilizes powerful grabs and shattering blows, with a unique powered-up state that enhances his special moves. Notably, one of his super abilities allows him to grab both opposing characters simultaneously, mirroring his original MOBA design.

Fan reaction remains mixed, balancing excitement for the new content with sadness regarding the game's closure. One prominent YouTube comment compared the bittersweet reveal to a final visit for a patient in a hospital.

Although 2XKO will cease active development due to insufficient player retention, it will remain playable. The microtransaction store is being replaced by a one-time purchase for all cosmetics, excluding specific promotional items, allowing players to access the full experience.
