Ahead of its full free-to-play release on Monday October 5, the MMORPG Aion 2 has seen significant success during its five-day paid advanced access period. Developer NC reported that concurrent player counts on Steam peaked at over 171,000, helping the title reach the top of Steam's global top sellers list.
To express gratitude for this early support, NC is extending pre-registration and Steam wishlist rewards to all players who create an account and log in before maintenance begins on Tuesday December 1. These rewards include a chest of consumables and two pets, with players able to select one additional pet from a list of four options.
NC is also addressing player frustration regarding Founder's Pack cosmetics, which were previously restricted to a single use. The developer confirmed these items will be made available to all characters across all servers, though implementation may take several days. Players wishing to upgrade their pack tier may request a refund for their current purchase through Steam support.
Finally, the developer has established initial server matchmaking pairs for the Elyos and Asmodian factions. These pairings for competitive modes like the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts will rotate periodically to maintain faction balance, ensuring players face different opponents over time.
