Key information

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is setting a target for a Platinum trophy completion rate of 20% or even higher. Director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that this goal sits far above the roughly 2.6% completion rate achieved by players in Rebirth.

According to Hamaguchi, Rebirth featured a massive amount of content designed to encourage players to perfect everything, though the studio failed to anticipate how many would chase the demanding Platinum. Battle director Teruki Endo shared similar regrets following the scale of the fan reaction.

For the upcoming title, Hamaguchi noted that the development team learned valuable lessons from Rebirth. They are now aiming to ensure that battles focus on being enjoyable rather than purely difficult, marking a clear shift in ambition.

The details emerged from an interview with Anime News Network, though specific trophy requirements remain unannounced. The game is scheduled to launch on 8th April 2027 across PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
