Key information
Bayonetta has remained quiet since the release of Bayonetta 3 in 2022. However, a recent interview published in Famitsu between PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba and Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae has sparked speculation regarding the series.
The discussion coincided with the upcoming release of Stellar Blade's port arriving next month, which includes four costumes inspired by the Bayonetta franchise. During the interview, Kim remarked that Bayonetta is approaching seventeen while retaining its freshness.
When Famitsu asked about future plans for the IP, Atsushi Inaba stated a strong desire to expand the character and broaden her world, telling readers to wait and see what shape that might take. When further pressed about a potential next game, Inaba declined to comment with a laugh.
This potential continuation comes despite creator Hideki Kamiya departing PlatinumGames in 2023, along with several other notable staff departures occurring in 2025.
