Key information
Pimax has unveiled a suite of new hardware, including the Crystal Pro wireless VR headset, ringless controllers, and a gaming PC dubbed the Pimax Spation. The company aims to compete with Valve by integrating advanced wireless streaming technologies and modular design elements into its latest product lineup.
The Crystal Pro features a 60G AirLink kit utilizing 60 GHz 2x2 MIMO to achieve up to 6 Gbps bandwidth. This system supports Native Foveated Streaming, which uses 120 Hz eye tracking to stream high-resolution imagery only where the user is looking, reducing bandwidth requirements while maintaining visual quality.
The headset is equipped with twin QLED displays at 2880 x 2880 resolution per eye, utilizing Mini-LED backlighting with 576 local dimming zones. While the device uses aspheric glass lenses for better eye-tracking compatibility, it also introduces SLAM 2.0 inside-out tracking and new ringless controllers featuring dual triggers and TMR sticks.
Pricing for the Crystal Pro starts at $1,399, with the 60G AirLink system adding $599 for a total of $1,899. Pimax has not yet announced specific release dates for the headset, controllers, or the Pimax Spation gaming PC.
