Game director Hideo Kojima provided development, story, and casting updates concerning Physint, his upcoming action-espionage title and spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid, during his revived Koji10 podcast.
Kojima explained that Physint marks his 40th anniversary as a developer and aims to evoke the origins of Metal Gear Solid through a different style of spy action filled with numerous fresh ideas.
Regarding the narrative and production, Kojima has already finalized the plot and personally pitched the cast, which features actors where 70% are reportedly fans. Filming is scheduled to commence next year, following body scans for Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe.
The project follows earlier reports regarding its publisher status and precedes OD, another Microsoft-backed game expected to release before Physint, which Kojima previously noted was years away.
