Kinetic Games has announced that Phasmophobia has surpassed 30 million copies sold across PC and consoles since its 2020 Early Access launch. CEO Daniel Knight expressed gratitude for this achievement, noting his initial goal was only 1,000 units in the first year.

The annual Crimson Eye Halloween event is currently live through 1st November. This update introduces blood moon weather to rotating maps, increasing ghost speed and sanity drain while offering higher payouts. Players can earn various cosmetics, including the Beholder ID Card and Blood Moon Trophy, through community and personal goals.

Additional event activities include a Twitch drop for a t-shirt cosmetic between 8th and 15th October, plus double XP and rewards from 15th to 22nd October. Furthermore, the Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts initiative returns from 26th October to 1st November to support the American Heart Association.

Looking ahead, the full 1.0 release is scheduled for the second half of 2027. Kinetic Games plans to share development updates next year, featuring major overhauls to gameplay and ghost design. The title is currently available on Steam, PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned.
