Key information
Soulframe, the director of the action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero, has officially confirmed that the game will feature a New Game Plus mode. Despite this inclusion, the developer intends for the title to remain accessible, allowing players to experience all available content within a single playthrough regardless of the chosen difficulty level.
The development team aims to avoid segmenting the player base through difficulty-locked content. According to Soulframe, players can earn the Platinum trophy in one run by dedicating time to exploration and mastering combat mechanics. The New Game Plus and additional difficulty settings are presented as optional features intended for personal satisfaction rather than mandatory progression.
While New Game Plus does not introduce new narrative content, it serves as a platform for players to experiment with late-game gear. Because powerful weapons are often acquired only after defeating final bosses, the mode allows users to utilize these items against earlier enemies, effectively creating a fresh gameplay experience.
Developed by S-Game, the kungfupunk-inspired title is scheduled for release on October 29 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The project has garnered positive attention for its potential to stand out in the current gaming landscape.
