Key information

Former Lionhead boss and current 22cans Creative Director Peter Molyneux shared his thoughts on Playground Games' upcoming Fable title. Molyneux stated that his overwhelming emotion is immense pride that a game he loved being involved with is continuing.

Reflecting on the promotional material, Molyneux noted that he was initially slightly worried about the first Richard Ayoade video featuring Jack and the Beanstalk for seeming too fairytale-ish. However, he remains very encouraged by newer gameplay videos, noting that the developers are keeping much of what made Fable unique.

Molyneux expressed curiosity regarding the alignment system and how it visually impacts the world. He added that because he played the games he created hundreds of times during development, this upcoming release will serve as the first Fable he truly plays as a gamer.

Additionally, Molyneux discussed his own project, Masters of Albion, which combines classic god gameplay with Fable-lite RPG elements. The New Beginnings 2.0 update for that title is currently live.
