Key information

NVIDIA announced that the PC version of the open-world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy will receive support for DLSS 5 on November 5. This update will be available to users of GeForce RTX 50 series hardware, GeForce NOW, and RTX Spark.

DLSS 5 introduces 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, an AI-driven technology designed to generate lighting and material details in real time to enhance visual fidelity. The update will also include the latest versions of other existing DLSS features already present in the game.

Developer Avalanche Software utilized the DLSS 5 SDK to ensure the technology maintains the game's original artistic intent and style. This follows previous criticism regarding technical demonstrations that appeared to prioritize photorealism over established art styles, prompting NVIDIA to clarify that developers can control which elements are modified by the AI.

The update for Hogwarts Legacy on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store is scheduled for November 5. Additionally, NVIDIA confirmed that the modding platform RTX Remix will receive DLSS 5 support on October 23.
