Key information
The World of Warcraft Forever beta has reached a significant milestone, with over 1,003,125 characters created since the testing phase began last month. Data tracked by classicplus.io highlights this engagement, which is notable given that participation largely requires purchasing the $30 Skyborne pack.
Despite the inclusion of the new Skyborne race, players are favoring traditional options. Humans account for 32.3% of Alliance characters, while Undead make up 33.5% of the Horde population. The Skyborne race currently represents only 18.7% of characters for both factions.
The beta experience is currently restricted, featuring a level cap of 30 and limited world access. Furthermore, all character progress is scheduled to be wiped before the full game release on November 4. Blizzard developers have expressed surprise at these high engagement figures, describing them as some of the craziest numbers they have witnessed.
The project has faced some friction, including controversies regarding gold-selling enforcement and player name moderation. Conversely, the addition of the popular "Kyle's Gone Missing" quest has been well-received by the community. The title is expected to launch shortly before Grand Theft Auto 6.
