Key information

Jagex has outlined a packed content roadmap for Old School Runescape, detailing major updates planned across the coming months and years. According to Creative Director Kieren Charles, the developer aims to deliver meaningful, permanent content every single month to cater to all types of players.

The schedule begins with the Fractured Archive raid launching on Tuesday October 20, described by Charles as the hardest raid the team has ever released. Following this, OSRS Hardcore arrives on Wednesday November 4, featuring dedicated worlds, a separate economy, and a strict one-life mechanic where fallen characters can be transferred to the core game.

November will also serve as Quest Month, featuring the highest volume of quests released in a single month. Further ahead, the roadmap features Dungeons of Gielinor with numerous new bosses, the grand conclusion to the Cave Goblin storyline titled The Chosen Commander, and Mining and Smithing Reforged developed through community collaboration.

The most notable highlight arrives in spring 2027, when the golden gates of Menaphos finally open alongside a new Master quest called Fool's Gold, the game's first skilling dungeon, and the True Soul Altar. Later updates will bring Fairytale III: Nexus of Power and the Tower of Xophoros, which introduces a new best-in-slot magic cape.
