Key information
NVIDIA is celebrating the retail debut of its RTX Spark laptops with a public event at XPERION in Berlin on October 16. The gathering, which coincides with the first laptop shipments, features a stage program, hands-on demonstrations, and a raffle. Attendees aged 18 or older must register via Luma to secure entry, as capacity is limited.
The event showcases the Arm-based N1X chip, which integrates up to 20 Grace CPU cores and a Blackwell RTX GPU with as many as 6,144 CUDA cores. NVIDIA claims the hardware achieves one petaflop of FP4 AI performance, enabling local execution of language models with 120 billion parameters. Gaming capabilities include support for DLSS 5, with NVIDIA asserting performance exceeding 100 FPS at 1440p in AAA titles.
While NVIDIA highlights these technical specifications, the company notes that independent reviews of retail units are necessary to verify performance claims. The platform, announced in June, has garnered support from developers like EA and Ubisoft, with Microsoft promising hundreds of compatible games at launch.
Preorders for RTX Spark devices opened on October 7, with pricing for the Surface Laptop Ultra ranging from $2,599 to $5,899. The Berlin event serves as a precursor to GTC Berlin, which begins October 20. Guests at the launch party will receive a goodie bag containing a six-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership valued at over €130.
