Key information
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto and Boruto, has unveiled several upcoming projects for the franchise. These new works, which include both a manga and an anime, are scheduled to reach fans between 2027 and 2029.
The Studio Pierrot production team is currently developing a four-episode anime titled Naruto x Ninku. This project is being supervised by the original manga authors, though the specific premiere date for the first episode remains unannounced.
The collaboration draws on Ninku, a manga from the first half of the 90s featuring a twelve-year-old protagonist named Fūsuke. Studio Pierrot, which previously handled the Ninku anime adaptation during the mid-90s, is utilizing its extensive knowledge of both properties for this crossover.
In addition to the anime, Kishimoto announced a manga project called Naruto Shadow Rising, which appears to center on the adult version of Naruto. Further details regarding these announcements are expected to be shared during the Jump Festa 2027 event this December.
