Key information
A new international age rating listing indicates that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature sex scenes. The PlayStation store pages for the game in New Zealand and Australia were updated to display official age ratings, which notably included a mention of sex scenes, differing from the British and American versions updated earlier that morning.
It remains unclear if this listing signals a terminology change by rating boards since GTA 5 launched nearly a decade and a half ago, or if GTA 6 will contain more scripted and detailed sexual content comparable to film and television. In contrast, GTA 5 store rating descriptions only mentioned sex broadly, which may have referred to interactions with sex workers rather than narrative sequences.
The focus of GTA 6 on the romantic relationship between protagonists Jason and Lucia, alongside trailers featuring intimate moments, suggests the full game could spotlight such content. Rating descriptions also point to blood, gore, intense violence, and drug use, while developer Rockstar recently acknowledged visiting Florida strip clubs for research purposes.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released on November 19.
