Key information
Actor Nolan North has expressed enthusiasm about potentially returning to the Uncharted franchise as protagonist Nathan Drake if Sony decides to develop a fifth installment. Speaking at the Gamergy show in Puerto Rico, North stated he has not heard anything official about a new game yet, but noted that he is actively trying to stay in shape just in case the call arrives. He emphasized that he would not say no to reprising the role, reflecting on his decade of work with Naughty Dog and its developers.
Although Sony has not officially announced a new Uncharted project, reports indicate that a fresh entry in the series might be in production under the leadership of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayg. Meanwhile, developer Naughty Dog has confirmed it currently has multiple games in development, including Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet.
North expressed confidence that a new Uncharted release would be immensely successful, calling it potentially one of the biggest games ever and a massive announcement for the gaming industry, provided it avoids the missteps of unpopular franchise sequels like the fourth Indiana Jones movie. It has been a decade since Uncharted 4 concluded Nathan Drake's adventures.
