Key information
Ubisoft has officially confirmed the upcoming closure of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mobile. Despite the company's multi-year development effort and a global launch on February 23, 2026, the title will cease operations on January 15, 2027. This decision marks a premature end for the mobile tactical shooter, which will have been available for less than one year.
The game utilized a free-to-play attack versus defense shooter formula. However, the project failed to meet Ubisoft's internal objectives regarding player retention across Android and iOS platforms. The development team described the shutdown as a difficult decision and noted that they will now shift their focus toward other long-term strategic projects.
Players expressed significant dissatisfaction with the game's mechanics, specifically criticizing the repetitive progression system. Furthermore, users voiced frustration regarding the monetization model, which restricted access to certain operators behind a paywall. These negative community assessments highlight the challenges the title faced in maintaining its player base.
While the game will shut down next year, Ubisoft plans to release one final season of content next week as originally scheduled. The company has not yet provided details regarding the status of player progress or potential refunds for in-game purchases, though they intend to share more information on these topics in the coming weeks.
