Key information

Nintendo is planning to bundle Nintendo Switch Sports Resort with Switch 2 units this holiday season. Following initial hands-on experiences at San Diego Comic Con, previews indicate that the title addresses many of the shortcomings seen in 2022's Nintendo Switch Sports by shifting focus away from menu-driven interfaces toward the explorable location of Wuhu Island.

Activities such as Power Cruising offer competitive racing as well as relaxed sightseeing tours featuring landmarks, objectives, and achievements. Skateboarding makes use of Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, allowing players to perform tricks and navigate toward locations like the Maka Wuhu volcano. Meanwhile, activities like the Prop Plane mode include exploring changed geography, popping balloons, and finding collectibles.

The 12-sport package also brings back classic events such as Bowling and Boxing, alongside new additions like Thumb Wrestling and revised mechanics for Archery. While single-player offerings include a CPU ladder in Boxing, some reviewers noted a desire for other activities from past iterations like Swordplay, Baseball, or Frisbee instead of duplicate net sports.
