Key information
Polygon recently spent about an hour playing Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, an upcoming exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2 system serving as a follow-up to the 2022 release Nintendo Switch Sports. The publication reported that the collection features both competitive and cooperative options alongside a resort-style getaway setting on Wuhu Island.
The title includes returning favorites like bowling, golf, tennis, table tennis, and boxing alongside new additions inspired by classic franchises. Reviewer assessments noted that bowling and table tennis retain their familiar appeal while benefiting from higher fidelity Joy-Con 2 motion controls, whereas Thumb Wrestling felt less essential despite serving as a potential quick crowd-pleaser.
Skateboarding, Power Cruising, and Prop Plane provide fresh experiences reminiscent of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Wave Race, and Pilotwings. Skateboarding can be operated using mouse mode with a sideways Joy-Con 2, while Archery offers high competitive longevity according to the reviewer, who found it both easy to learn and difficult to master.
Polygon noted that Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform on Oct. 22.
