Key information
A recent leak originating from Xbox's backend server has revealed unannounced details regarding a rumored new Xbox Elite controller, widely expected to be the Elite Series 3. While Microsoft has not made an official announcement, the leaked documents outline several advanced hardware additions.
The rumored peripheral features advanced haptics including Impulse Triggers and trigger-specific vibration. To address past quality concerns and minimize stick drift, the design includes Hall-effect joystick modules offering standard, loose, and tight resistance, alongside a "silent stick" option and a "TMR" choice for higher-resolution movement tracking with lower power consumption.
Focusing heavily on customization, the leaked controller specs point to multiple paddle designs like double-wide options, varied D-pad alternatives, swappable faceplates with color, metal finish, and engraving choices, as well as an audio scroll wheel color setting.
Pricing and release details remain unconfirmed due to the lack of an official announcement. However, the predecessor, the Elite Series 2, currently carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $199.99, leaving the cost of the new model unknown.
