Key information

Netflix has announced The Conjuring: Unspoken, an upcoming horror narrative experience set within The Conjuring universe. The title is scheduled to launch exclusively on the streaming service on October 13th.

Players take on the role of demonologist Francesca Noakes, exploring the Red Lion Inn in England. The gameplay involves shaping the story via dialogue choices and using tools like an infrared camera, an electromagnetic field reader, and a spirit box.

The title utilizes a dual-screen setup where the main screen displays the virtual environment while the user's phone acts as a controller. Netflix notes that while previous movie viewing is not required, familiar faces appear and knowing the backstory enhances the experience.

The project was developed by Supermassive Games, a studio known for Until Dawn and The Quarry. Supermassive previously announced planned staff layoffs, with a former employee stating that more than seventy people would be leaving.
