Key information
NBA 2K25 is scheduled for delisting after operating for just two years, bringing an early end to digital availability and critical gameplay modes. Originally launched in September 2024, the title will be removed from purchase digital storefronts on October 30, 2026, according to the announcement.
The closure of online servers on January 1, 2027, will render multiplayer features completely inaccessible alongside the MyCareer single-player story mode. Because player progression and virtual currency rely strictly on live connections, MyCareer and MyTEAM will stop functioning entirely when the servers go offline.
While 2K's shutdown policy impacts online components, customers who buy the title prior to October 30 can continue enjoying offline features like Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA whenever they want.
This quick two-year lifecycle mirrors recent publisher practices of removing modern sports titles rapidly, effectively forcing users toward newer iterations and causing previous legacy content plus modes like All-Star Team-Up to vanish permanently.
