Developer rdein, known for the Momodora series, has unveiled a new turn-based dungeon crawling role-playing game titled Record of Dorathia via the official Bombservice website.
The creator stated that the project is inspired by classic titles like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Etrian Odyssey, and Pokémon Gold and Silver, noting a long-standing dream to build an RPG and a desire to shift away from previous metroidvania action games.
Players assemble a four-person party from eight distinct classes, which include tank roles like Dark Knight and Oathkeeper, healing roles such as Cleric and Oracle, and offensive options including Blademaster, Monk, Hunter, and Witch.
Combat relies on turn-based mechanics featuring limited action uses, status ailment management, and exploiting enemy weaknesses, where conditions like Sleep guarantee critical hits on regular foes or apply Drowsy effects to lower boss stats.
The narrative follows a wandering soul summoned by a powerful witch named Monna to locate her missing sister Alma, focusing heavily on a group of twelve magi who created and protect the world.
Development has been underway for roughly three years, and the team intends to launch a Steam store page alongside a trailer in the near future.
