Key information

Infinity Ward has detailed the new DMZ mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, published on October 6, 2026. The studio designed the action extraction shooter to feature faster matches and less time spent in menus and inventory management while maintaining core looting and progression elements.

The DMZ mode introduces 70 exclusive levels of progression alongside its own economy based on money and crafting materials that persist between matches. Weapon progression will remain shared with traditional multiplayer and Warzone. The primary map, Haijin, features the largest population of AI-controlled enemies ever created by the developer, divided into four difficulty and aggressiveness levels topped by Commanders.

Players will also utilize a new Forward Operating Base, or FOB, between incursions to manage inventory, crafting, gear preparation, missions, a shooting range, and a 3D printer for creating items using field materials. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and its DMZ mode are scheduled to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2.
