Key information
Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux are receiving free next-generation updates for current platforms. Existing owners will obtain these enhancements at no additional cost before the launch of Metro 2039.
Developer 4A Games stated that the update maintains the core Redux aesthetic and experience instead of performing a full remake or remaster. The package introduces 4K textures, refined animations, enhanced audio quality, increased environmental detail, and community-requested bug fixes.
Platform-specific enhancements include DLSS and spatial audio on PC. Console versions feature native support delivering 4K at 60fps or upscaled 4K at 120fps on suitable displays, alongside improved lighting, shadows, and particle effects. Additionally, the PS5 Pro receives PSSR support, while Xbox Series X gains TSR upscaling and anti-aliasing.
The PC upgrade launches on October 22, followed by the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions on October 29. These upgrades precede Metro 2039, which is scheduled to arrive on February 4.
