Phoenix Cyclops is set to arrive as the first downloadable character for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on November 2, 2026. This iteration of Scott Summers is inspired by the Avengers vs. X-Men comic storyline, featuring the character possessed by the cosmic Phoenix entity.
Gameplay-wise, this version functions as a mid-range fighter utilizing cosmic flames and melee skills rather than acting solely as a zoner. Players can accumulate solar shards through optical beams, which can then be consumed to trigger a Dark Phoenix state, significantly increasing power at the cost of health.
Director Kazuto Sekine noted that the team wanted to create something novel, leading to the choice of this specific version. Because the character is positioned against other X-Men in the narrative, he was excluded from the base game, where Storm leads the team.
The release includes two classic costumes for purists. Attendees at EVO France 2026 in Nice can preview the character on playable stations this weekend, alongside other upcoming content like Angstrom Levy and Roger Jr.
