Key information
Recent weeks have seen a surge of viral videos across platforms like Twitter and X showcasing bizarre video game combinations, such as Escape From Tarkov integrated into Skyrim and Spider-Man swinging through Batman Arkham Knight's Gotham.
This trend is driven by Claude Opus 5.5, an artificial intelligence model that has become inexpensive and proficient at writing code. The technology allows individuals with no programming experience to deconstruct two distinct games and combine them within minutes.
As demonstrated by YouTuber Brendan Jowett, the resulting videos depict unplayable experiences that fall far short of the quality expected from traditional mods. This has sparked massive indignation within the modding community, with creators labeling the trend as valueless AI slop and expressing fears that dedicated artistry will be replaced by automated interaction farms.
Fortunately, none of these projects are available on NexusMods, the primary modification platform. According to IGN International, Nexus enforces a strict policy prohibiting files containing AI-generated material unless the creator owns the rights to absolutely everything used, largely due to legal considerations.
