Key information
Founder Tayo Adesanya launched Lola Vision Systems in 2024 to build software and chips designed to run artificial intelligence models directly on various devices. The Washington, D.C.-based startup was created after Adesanya gained years of experience helping large hardware manufacturers choose specific microchips for their devices.
The company’s central offering is a compiler toolchain software designed to translate artificial intelligence models into instructions that a targeted chip can execute. Adesanya stated that manually configuring a model on new hardware can take approximately 200 hours just to begin testing, which creates a massive bottleneck for development teams.
According to Adesanya, alternative options often break or perform poorly out of the box, forcing engineering teams to spend significant time debugging. He noted that power consumption frequently exceeds edge computing budgets, or boards fail to deliver sufficient computing power for larger recognition models.
To generate revenue sooner, the startup plans to license its software to run on existing hardware while it continues developing its own semiconductor chips. The firm has secured one signed customer, received expressions of interest from a dozen corporate clients, partnered with SCALE, and raised just over $1 million in total funding.
