Key information

Embark Studios has officially entered into an agreement with Chernin Entertainment to develop film and television adaptations for its multiplayer shooters, Arc Raiders and The Finals. This deal follows a competitive bidding process where Chernin Entertainment emerged as the successful partner, leveraging their recent experience in adapting the Backrooms franchise for the big screen.

The collaboration aims to transform these gaming properties into deeply integrated transmedia experiences. Patrick Söderlund, CEO of Embark and executive president of Nexon, stated that the studio's creative teams will work closely with Chernin to ensure the core essence of both titles is successfully translated into new formats.

David Ready, president of film at Chernin, highlighted the potential of these titles as ambitious global intellectual properties with immersive, visually striking worlds. Despite the announcement, specific details regarding screenwriters, directors, cast members, release dates, or plot directions remain undisclosed at this time.

This development coincides with a significant period for Arc Raiders, which recently launched its largest update to date. The game is currently hosting a free trial period scheduled to conclude on October 12.
