Key information

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is a third expansion for The Witcher 3 featuring Geralt of Rivia and Roach travelling to Letten, the homeland of Dandelion who will have a main role in the plot. The new region is described by creators as colorful and spared from the continent's hardships, while remaining at least as large as previous DLCs like Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

During a Gamescom presentation, developers showcased Letten as a world overflowing with life featuring varied NPC behaviors such as partying adults and playful children. Jakub Rokosz, game director at Fools Theory, explained that the team followed a 'show, not tell' mantra, which also influenced more cinematic sequences than the base game.

Senior quest designer Despoina Anetaki from CD Projekt noted that the vibrant design creates a challenge to ensure quests account for ongoing world events without existing in a vacuum. Furthermore, Letten's navigation without extradiegetic icons allows players to approach areas via different paths that can impact quest progression.

Published on 3/10/2026 by Fran G. Matas, the game is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series.
