Key information

A modder named LoreanXavier is currently developing a native Windows port for P.T., the legendary horror demo for Silent Hills that was pulled from PS4 over ten years ago. The developer states that the project is roughly ninety-seven percent completed.

Rather than recreating the experience from scratch, the modder applies reverse engineering to the original executable file to run natively on Windows using C++ and Vulkan. The project preserves the original house, loops, events, scripts, and even incorporates voice recognition functionality.

While Hideo Kojima shared a news report about the project on social media, acknowledging the effort publicly, this social media share does not constitute official approval or guarantee any commercial distribution.

The original playable teaser was released on PlayStation 4 in August 2014 before being canceled and removed from the store in 2015 following the split between Kojima and Konami. Although thirty minutes of gameplay have already been shown, no specific release date has been announced yet.
