Key information
The Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 this week, marking the first time these titles are available natively on a Nintendo console. This release replaces the cloud-based versions previously offered on the original Switch, which faced significant criticism for their reliance on constant internet connectivity.
According to the Nintendo eShop, the full collection requires 131 GB of storage space. This footprint occupies more than half of the console's 256 GB internal memory, a portion of which is also reserved for the operating system.
The collection is split into three applications: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix at 54.1 GB, Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue at 26.8 GB, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind at 45.2 GB. While these individual components sum to 126.1 GB, the eShop lists the total requirement as 131 GB, leaving a discrepancy of nearly 5 GB that remains unexplained.
Players opting for the physical edition should note that the game card does not contain all necessary data. Users will still need to download the games and store them on the console or a microSD Express card to play.
