Voca player Paytyn "junior" Johnson discussed the state of North American talent following his team's victory during iBUYPOWER Masters FML 2026. Speaking with Dust2.us editor-in-chief Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" after a 2-0 win against BESTIA, junior stated that while raw AWP talent is abundant in the region, it lacks high-level in-game leaders.
According to junior, promising local snipers stall in development because strong tactical systems are missing. He pointed to Shakezullah helping his own career and JT aiding rival oSee as examples of how crucial proper IGL support is for players.
Voca has attended few LAN events this season while chasing VRS points, incorporating results from South American tournaments. Junior noted that upcoming trips to Sweden and Argentina are critical for their slim Major qualification hopes, though the squad later suffered a 0-2 defeat against M80 in a decisive group stage match.
The interview was published on September 26, 2026, and edited for length and clarity. Junior's observations connect his personal trajectory as a homegrown AWP star with broader structural issues in regional play.
