Key information
Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard recently addressed inquiries regarding the potential release of GTA 6 on the Switch 2. Rather than providing a definitive confirmation or denial, Pritchard stated that such discussions remain the responsibility of Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two.
While official confirmation for the title is currently limited to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms for its November 19 launch, speculation persists. A May 2025 report from NateTheHate suggested that Rockstar conducted technical feasibility tests for the game on the hardware, though the source clarified that these evaluations do not constitute formal development plans.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed optimism regarding the Switch 2 platform, yet he cautioned that the company would not necessarily port every title to the console. Zelnick noted that while there is a significant opportunity to bring older catalog titles to the system, the inclusion of GTA 6 remains unconfirmed.
Rockstar has a history of supporting Nintendo hardware, including the 2021 release of GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition and earlier titles like GTA: Chinatown Wars. Despite this legacy, the company has not yet committed to bringing its upcoming flagship release to the new Nintendo platform.
