Key information

Insomniac released a new patch for Marvel’s Wolverine on October 6 that introduces a togglable Hint option for story-related scent trails. According to Insomniac on Twitter/X, the update responds directly to community feedback from critical players who felt the previous scent trails offered too much guidance and restricted independent exploration.

The new Hint button is mapped to the R3 control on the PlayStation 5 controller. Players can now use this button to switch the visibility of story-related scent trails on or off depending on their personal preference.

In addition to story-related scent trails, the update gives users control over other elements such as audio cues and nightmare roots. This allows players to navigate environments and discover the Nightmare Cabin independently.

The patch also fixes additional community-reported issues regarding crashes and bugs to enhance stability. Insomniac previously adjusted scent trails in late September by lowering their opacity and allowing players to disable specific clues.
