Insomniac released an update for Marvel’s Wolverine on October 6, introducing a togglable Hint option that lets players turn story-related scent trails on and off. The developer stated on Twitter/X that this change stemmed directly from community feedback addressing player complaints.

The new Hint button is mapped to the R3 control on the PlayStation 5 controller. Besides story scent trails, the update allows players to adjust the visibility of audio cues and nightmare roots, enabling them to find the Nightmare Cabin independently without feeling handheld.

Critical players previously felt the visual aids left little room for independent exploration. Prior modifications included reducing overall opacity to make visuals less intense and addressing Whiskey Bottle scents, Material Crate audio clues, and Nightmare Door roots in late September.

Design choices like white paint and actor Liam McIntyre's portrayal also sparked discussions among fans. Alongside the navigation toggles, update version 1.002.001 includes fixes for community-reported bugs and crashes to improve overall stability.
