Key information
Game developer Hideo Kojima has publicly recognized a fan-created Windows edition of the famous horror title P.T. by sharing an online article on his social media account. The original playable teaser debuted back in August 2014 as a preview for a cancelled Silent Hill project featuring actor Norman Reedus, before Konami removed the software from digital storefronts following a dispute with the creator in 2015.
The unauthorized Windows adaptation is being developed by modder LoreanXavier, who stated the project is approximately ninety-seven percent finished. Rather than utilizing an emulator or building a complete remake, the creator reverse-engineered the PlayStation 4 executable file alongside C++ and Vulcan programming to produce a dedicated Windows application relying on original assets.
According to the developer, the software serves as an exact recreation featuring identical environments, original Lua scripts, progression mechanics, and puzzle sequences, alongside the voice-recognition segment. Half an hour of recorded gameplay is currently viewable online, while community members have requested open-source code sharing in case copyright issues arise.
The modder expressed complete amazement upon discovering that the legendary director shared the project online. Meanwhile, the creator is currently developing an upcoming horror title named OD featuring cast members Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer.
